John Matthews, Independent Non-Executive Chairman *†
John was appointed Chairman in 1996. He is Non-Executive Chairman of Regus plc and a non-executive director of Rotork plc and SDL plc. John Callcutt, Chief Executive John joined the Group in 1974. He was appointed to the Board in 1985 and became Chief Executive in 1991. Paul Callcutt, Executive Director
Paul joined the Group in 1982. He was appointed to the Board in 2000 and is Group Land Director.

Stephen was appointed to the Board in April, 2003. He is President of the House Builders Federation and a former Chairman of John Laing Homes plc.
Peter Darby, Finance Director
Peter, a chartered accountant, joined the Company in 1987 and left in 1996. He rejoined the Company in 2001 and was appointed to the Board in August 2003.
Richard Scholes, Non Executive Director *†
Richard was appointed to the Board in July 2003. He is a chartered accountant and a non-executive director of Bodycote International Plc, Keller Group Plc, Chaucer Holdings Plc and Marshalls Plc.
